Mamie, Chris, Mack - I just heard about Howard. I am so sorry. Howard was my neighbor as a child, but as I grew up we became friends. The hours I spent working with him we would talk. He always had a life lesson to share. I loved him like a father, and he always said I was the daughter he never had. He taught me how to make THE best spaghetti and vegetable soup. After I stopped working for him and began my teaching career, I would still come by with a pound cake to see him every summer. He would always ask about the kids. They remembered him as the man with Dusty! Howard gave me a quilt a few years ago that was one of many he had but to me it meant the world. I will miss knowing he is there. I loved him dearly as I know you all did too. He was so proud of you all and never was shy about saying that. A man like Howard was one in a million! Heaven is lucky to have him.

Chris, I am so sorry to hear about your father. If he was anything like you, then I know that he was an outstanding and dynamic person. You can always put a smile on someones's face. That is a gift from the good Lord above. Jason and I love you and Mary as our dear friends. If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to call. Take care!! Kim Thomas

Chris, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your father.Knowing the son he raised, I am sure he was certainly a role model to be admired. I know you will take comfort in the knowledge he is now with the Lord. Continue to trust in Him who has made us and He will give you the peace that passes all understanding. Phil Meadows

Mr. Howard, You were one the most intelligent friends I ever had the privilege to know. You always gave me the best advice in any matter we discussed over the years no matter the subject. Anytime I was having problems or feeling a little down I could get cheered up by the time we finished our conversation and you always had to tell me Joke no matter what! I have lost a very dear friend and the best Joke source in the World. You will be missed but never forgotten. Love, Kevin, Lisa, Jacob, Sara and Doggone.

- Kevin Cole, Montezuma, GA

Chris, please accept my sincere condoleance to you and Mary for your loss. No one can really know how you feel. Your dad was a great person who served the Lord and you know that you will see him again. I pray for you and your familly.
